The morning digest and instant alerts

Last updated 1 November 2026

Churnahead is designed to be used from your inbox. The dashboard is there when you want it, but the morning message is meant to be enough on most days: who is at risk, why, and what to do, with the actions one click away.

The digest

  • When. After eight in the morning (UTC), every day on Starter and Growth, every Monday on Free.
  • To whom. The address set under Settings, and a Slack channel through an incoming webhook, either or both. Teammates who own accounts are named next to them.
  • What is in it. The accounts at high and medium risk, biggest MRR first, each with the reasons that fire (for example “Card expires in 12 days, renews on the 23rd” or “Set to cancel on 4 December. Portal feedback: too expensive”), the money at stake, and three links: Mark contacted, Mark saved, Snooze 14 days.
  • What is left out. Accounts marked saved, churned or snoozed in the last 14 days. A digest with nothing at risk isn’t sent at all.

Instant alerts

With the one-click Stripe connection, or a Stripe webhook pointed at Churnahead, three things trigger an alert within seconds, by email and Slack, with the same action links:

  1. A cancellation is scheduled. The account is rescored and, if the signal is new, you hear about it at once rather than at eight the next morning.
  2. A payment fails.
  3. An account moves up to high risk, from low or medium, whether through a webhook or a daily sync. A sync sends at most ten of these, biggest MRR first.

The same alert isn’t repeated for an account within 14 days, and accounts marked saved, churned or snoozed in the last 14 days are skipped. Paddle and Lemon Squeezy have no webhooks in Churnahead yet, so their accounts are rescored on the four-hourly sync and alerted from there.

Every account in the email and the Slack message carries signed links that work for 30 days and need no sign-in. A click opens a one-button confirmation page first, because mail scanners prefetch links and a bare link would mark accounts on its own.

  • Mark contacted records that you reached out. Thirty days later the outcome closes itself: saved if the customer still pays, churned if not. A manual mark always wins.
  • Mark saved closes the case now.
  • Snooze 14 days hides the account from digests and alerts for two weeks.

Measuring whether it works

The dashboard keeps revenue saved and revenue lost over the last 30 days from these outcomes, and every account that loses its last subscription is marked churned on the next sync whether or not anyone touched it. That is the number to watch: not how many accounts were flagged, but how much of the flagged revenue is still paying a month later.

Drafting the message to the customer

On any account page, Draft email writes a short note to that customer from why they are flagged, the date and money at stake, and the notes recorded on the account. Paste two or three emails you have sent before under Settings, Your voice, and drafts follow your greeting, length and sign-off. The draft is editable and is never sent from Churnahead: copy it, send it from your own mailbox, then mark the account contacted. A draft costs about one or two cents and uses Claude through the Anthropic API.
