ChartMogul alternatives

Last updated 1 November 2026

ChartMogul is a good subscription analytics product, so the reason to look elsewhere is usually a specific one: the price once you pass the free plan’s revenue limit, a billing provider it doesn’t support, wanting fewer features for a lower price, or wanting a different job done altogether, such as knowing which customers to call this week. Alternatives below are grouped by that job. Details about other products are as published on their sites on the date above.

Subscription analytics, like for like

  • Baremetrics. Metrics, cohorts and forecasting with add-ons for failed-payment recovery and cancellation feedback, priced by annual revenue. See Baremetrics alternatives and Churnahead vs Baremetrics.
  • Paddle’s ProfitWell Metrics. Free subscription analytics for Stripe and other providers.
  • Stripe’s built-in reporting and Sigma. MRR, churn and retention in the Stripe dashboard, with SQL over your Stripe data in Sigma. For a single Stripe account this covers more than people expect.
  • A warehouse and a BI tool. Stripe Data Pipeline or Fivetran into BigQuery or Snowflake, then Metabase or Looker. The most flexible and the most work.

Multi-source and data cleaning

If the reason you used ChartMogul was merging customers across Stripe, an app store and an invoicing system, the honest alternatives are Baremetrics for some sources, or the warehouse route. Churnahead reads one provider per workspace and does not try to do this.

Knowing who is about to leave

ChartMogul tells you what churn was. If what you need is who is about to churn, with a reason, early enough to talk to them, that is a different kind of tool:

  • Churnahead. Reads Stripe, Paddle or Lemon Squeezy read-only, scores every paying customer with published rules, replays them over your last twelve months of churn so you can see what they would have caught, and sends the at-risk list each morning by email and Slack with the reason for each account and links to mark it contacted, saved or snoozed. Instant alerts on scheduled cancellations and failed payments. Outcomes close themselves after thirty days so you can see revenue saved. Free up to 25 paying customers, then $39 or $99 a month. See Churnahead vs ChartMogul.
  • Customer success platforms such as Vitally, ChurnZero or Gainsight, for companies with a customer success team and the integrations to feed a health score from usage, support and CRM. A project, not an afternoon.

Cutting involuntary churn

If the churn you want to reduce is failed cards, an analytics tool isn’t the fix either. Turn on Stripe’s Smart Retries, dunning emails and card updater first. Then consider a dunning product (Churnkey, Stunning, or Paddle Retain if you bill through Paddle), or an early warning that flags expiring cards before they fail and failed payments as they happen so you can write to the customer yourself. See involuntary churn.

Picking

Decide which job you are hiring for. For reporting alone on one Stripe account, start with Stripe’s own reports and add Baremetrics or ChartMogul when you outgrow them. For the morning list of who to call, add Churnahead; it has a revenue view with a forecast, movements and cohorts, which is often enough that a small team needs nothing else. See churn tools for SaaS for the full map.
