Churnahead vs Baremetrics
Last updated 1 November 2026
Baremetrics and Churnahead both read your billing provider and both talk about churn, but they answer different questions. Baremetrics tells you what your churn was and how your revenue is moving. Churnahead tells you which customers are about to leave, why, and what to do about each one this morning. Details about Baremetrics below are as published on baremetrics.com on the date above.
What Baremetrics is
Baremetrics is subscription analytics. It connects to Stripe and other billing systems and gives you dashboards for MRR, ARR, churn rate, LTV, ARPU, cohorts and forecasting, with segmentation and a customer list. Two add-ons extend it: Recover, which emails customers about failed payments and gives them a page to update their card, and Cancellation Insights, which asks cancelling customers why and reports the revenue lost to each reason. Plans are priced by annual revenue; on the date above, the entry plan starts at $49 a month with the add-ons priced separately.
What Churnahead is
Churnahead is an early warning for individual accounts. It reads Stripe, Paddle or Lemon Squeezy with read-only access, scores every paying customer with published rules, replays those rules over your last twelve months of churn to show what they would have caught, and sends you the at-risk list each morning by email and Slack, with the reason for each account and links to mark it contacted, saved or snoozed. It is free up to 25 paying customers, then $39 or $99 a month, with every feature on every plan.

When Baremetrics is the better choice
- You need board-grade subscription metrics with segmentation and custom dashboards.
- You bill through a provider Churnahead doesn’t read.
- You want a vendor to run failed-payment emails to your customers for you.
When Churnahead is the better choice
- You want to know who to call this week, not what the churn rate was last month.
- You want the warning tested on your own history before you trust it.
- You want nothing written to billing and nothing sent to your customers without you.
- You bill through Paddle or Lemon Squeezy.
- You have under a few thousand customers and a founder, not a customer success team, working the list.
Using both
They don’t conflict. Baremetrics for the numbers and Churnahead for the morning list is a reasonable pairing, and both read Stripe without touching it. The question is whether you need the first one’s depth; Churnahead’s revenue view covers the forecast, MRR movements and cohorts that most small teams look at.
