Churnahead vs ChartMogul
Last updated 1 November 2026
ChartMogul is one of the most used subscription analytics products, and in recent years it has added a CRM. Churnahead is a narrower tool with a different job: it names the specific accounts that are about to leave and gets you to act on them. Details about ChartMogul below are as published on chartmogul.com on the date above.
What ChartMogul is
ChartMogul connects to Stripe, Braintree, Chargebee, Recurly, Paddle, app stores and more, and reports MRR, ARR, churn rate, LTV, ARPA, retention, cohorts and movements, with segmentation, custom attributes and a data-cleaning layer for merging customers across sources. Its CRM tracks leads and trials next to the revenue data. On the date above it has a free plan for companies under roughly $10,000 MRR, with paid plans above that priced by revenue.
What Churnahead is
Churnahead reads Stripe, Paddle or Lemon Squeezy with read-only access, scores every paying customer with published rules, replays those rules over your last twelve months of churn to show what they would have caught, and sends the at-risk list each morning by email and Slack with the reason for each account and links to act. It is free up to 25 paying customers, then $39 or $99 a month.

When ChartMogul is the better choice
- You need metrics across several billing sources, or want to merge customers between them.
- You want segmentation by plan, country, channel or your own attributes.
- You want a lightweight CRM next to your revenue data.
When Churnahead is the better choice
- You already know your churn rate and want to do something about the next customers who will add to it.
- You want a warning you can check: the rules are published and replayed on your history.
- You want to act from your inbox and know a month later what was saved.
- You bill with Lemon Squeezy, which ChartMogul doesn’t read.
Using both
Plenty of companies will run ChartMogul for reporting and Churnahead for the morning list. Both read Stripe read-only and neither depends on the other.
